Summer guests at Andøy museum

A museum visit may not be the first thing you think of when the northern Norwegian summer turns out from its best side. The first summer guests at Andøy Museum dropped by this week.

But many of our venues are located in idyllic locations and have fantastic lookout points that make a visit tempting – even in 25 degrees Celsius. For example, Andøy Museum and Andenes lighthouse where there is full speed (in all kind weather).

On Monday, the Andøy Museum opened for the first summer guests at of the year after the end of the refurbishment. In addition to the museum, we recommend a visit to the lighthouse and a stroll around the beautiful outdoor area. Nice museum hosts are ready to give you a memorable visit.

Revision of preservation plan for private archives

This week there has been a working meeting in connection with the revision of the conservation plan for private archives in Nordland.

Eddie – THE otter

Eddie was born somewhere on Sotra outside Bergen, most likely in late summer 2022.

She was found after her mother was hit and taken home to a family in Sotra. She stayed there for several months before taking the long flight up to us at the Lofoten Aquarium at the end of January 2023.

TV program for children «Klaas Kan alles»

The Dutch TV presenter Klaas van Kruistum was at Lofotr Viking Museum on Tuesday 14 March. Together with the crew, he recorded an episode of the children’s program “Klaas Kan Alles”.
