The Hurtigruten Museum invites you to a cake buffet, lectures and a concert to celabrate Risøyrenna 100 years.
On 25 June 1922, Risøyrenna was officially opened, and the hurtigrute could sail through Vesterålen for the first time. DS Finmarken 1912 led a short run of 300–400 boats, and on board was King Haakon the 7th, Captain Richard With and ministers from several ministries. Precisely these lounges guests at the Hurtigruten Museum can enter to enjoy beautiful furniture, ornamentation and atmosphere.
We pay tribute to the optimism and courage that changed Vesterålen forever with coffee and anniversary cake, lectures, a theme station, wreath laying and music. We also sell the anniversary book “Gjennom Risøysundet – Historia om Risøyrenna”.
