On the 15th and 16th of March, the Nordland Seminar 2023 took place in Hamarøy, and museum consultant Kjersti Robertsen in the Ofoten department participated. This year’s organizers were Nordlandsmuseet in collaboration with Árran – Julevsáme guovdásj / Lule Sami Center. The seminar was divided in two, with the first day at Árran on Drag, and day two at the Hamsun Centre at Presteid.

Day one started with a tour of the museum for those who wanted to, with senior adviser Lars Magne Andreassen and museum director Sissel Ann Mikkelsen.

The seminar started with a nice lunch, before a series of great lectures were started. The theme of the Nordland Seminar 2023 was Nordland’s Sami diversity.

Day two of the seminar was at the Hamsun Centre at Presteid, there were several exciting lectures, a reading workshop and a tour of the Hamsun Centre.

Allocation to technical and industrial heritage sites

The County Council has allocated NOK 2 750 000 to technical and industrial cultural monuments and sites in Nordland. The grant goes to Neptun Herring Oil Factory and Fagerli’s old power station.
