On Sept 21 – 22 September, Helgeland Museum, Nordland Museum and Museum Nord gathered for the annual “joint meeting of museums in Nordland”. New this year was that Árran Julevsáme guovdásj/Lule Sami Center, the Norwegian Aviation Museum and the Narvik Centre also participated.
The participants are the museums’ boards, directors, heads of administration and possibly other leaders. In total, about 30 people were gathered. The head of Cultural Heritage in Nordland/Nordland County Council also participated. We take this opportunity to thank you for your participation and commitment from all parties!
The purpose of the meeting is to get to know each other’s opportunities and challenges better. This forms the basis for seeing whether the museums have tasks that the museums can or should solve or discuss together. The museums have distributed tasks and topics to be presented in advance, so that the participants can have discussions and exchange of experience during the meeting. The joint meeting of the museums in Nordland is an arena for just this.
The joint meeting of the museums in Nordland takes place every year. The task of arranging the meeting rotates between the consolidated museums. This year’s agenda included operating agreements, strategy, best practice and development projects.
The meeting was held at Stokmarknes, at the beautiful new Quality Hotel Richard With. Of course, the Hurtigruten Museum was visited by the group. Brynjar and his skilled crew conducted a great tour of the museum, with tasty surprises along the way and a concert on the flag deck. All the guests in the party expressed their enthusiasm for the great museum and the talented staff.
Museum Nord thanks everyone for a job well done, for good and committed participation and looks forward to next year’s joint meeting for the museums in Nordland.
