Registration session at Kjøpsvik Museum

Last week, Museum Nord’s collection management group met for a new registration session, this time at Kjøpsvik Museum in Ofoten. The collection management group consists of responsible management, in addition to conservators and collection managers from the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum, Lofotr Viking Museum, Hurtigrutemuseet and the museums in Storvågan.

In this session, the focus was mainly on object photography. Large parts of Kjøpsvik Museum’s collection of objects are already registered in Primus, but many needed new object photographs.

The object collection at Kjøpsvik Museum consists of many objects related to household utensils, fishing and agriculture, schools, clubs and associations in the village, but also objects related to the village’s cornerstone company Kjøpsvik cement factory Norcem (now Kjøpsvik Cement factory Heidelberg Materials).

Several of the objects that were photographed in Kjøpsvik are now available at the Digitalt Museum. More objects will be published on the Digitalt Museum in due course.
