Museum Nord has the pleasure of inviting Våganværinger, Lofotinger and all interested parties to an information meeting about SKREI. The meeting will be held on Wednesday 29 November in Kabelvåg.
The SKREI project is really on the move! We want to share our plans and status with all interested parties. Right now, demolition is underway on the site. Before this, a lot of work has been done. The road from idea to reality is long and filled with tasks. The project is presented to various partners, collaboration agreements are drawn up, and funding must be obtained. Buildings and construction must be designed and, not least, content and experiences must be created for the visitors.
At the meeting, we will share information about the process so far, about the status as of today and about the way forward. It will simply be an evening of insight and information about SKREI; what is SKREI and where are we at with the work.
SKREI will share knowledge and experiences about cod and the Lofoten fishery – in many formats and with different perspectives. This evening we have the great pleasure of welcoming a current and historian and author – to share relevant history from his new book “Threads from the past”. Åsa Elstad has an education in textile shaping, a PhD in history and been a museum curator.
Åsa is a co-author of a number of works on coastal culture and fisheries, handicrafts and clothing. Now Åsa is current with the book “Threads from the past” (published by Museumsforlaget). The book has received good attention, among other things Åsa has been on NRK Nitimen with the book.
When: Wednesday 29. November 18.00 – approx. 20.00
Where: Arbeidern, Kabelvåg
Registration: no, just show up, everyone is welcome. We are serving coffee and a snack.
Welcome!
