Craftsmen’s seminar

25 January 2024

Craftsmen in Museum Nord gathered this week for a seminar at the Neptune Herring Oil Factory. The seminar began with the FAMAC training session delivered by Mads Oshaug from FDVhuset. FAMAC is a multifunctional tool for operation and maintenance. We learned how to use the system from different user levels and for different activities.

We talked about condition assessment of buildings and how the group can contribute to this through FAMAC. This work starts now and continues throughout the year. We looked at the 2024 action plan and budget to have a good overview of how our minimal resources are prioritized and allocated. Like other museums, we have a large backlog of maintenance.

At the end of the seminar we got an insight into Neptun’s workshops, and see how Neptun and our museums in Hadsel work with operation and maintenance. In the spring we will meet again in the spring to continue working on maintenance and building protection.

Our craftsmen and operations managers are a very nice bunch with a lot of expertise and motivation to make the best of the resources we have. Thank you for a nice seminar at Neptun Herring Oil Factory!
