Kven panel discussion at Narvik Library

On Saturday 16 March, Kven People’s Day, a panel discussion was arranged at Narvik Library between this year’s VU artist, Åsne Kummeneje Mellem, local historian Geir Horrigmoe, and department director of Museum Nord’s Ofoten department, Jon Framnes. The event was a collaboration between Vinterfestuka’s literature festival Ord i Spor, Narvik Library and Narvik Museum.

The event started with two musical performances from Ensemble Oskar, before the panel discussion started.

The topic of the panel discussion was Kven art, culture and history, and the Kvens’ affiliation in Ofoten and Narvik. There were around 100 attendees at the event, and eager participation with questions from the audience during the panel discussion.
