Lecture tour in Ofoten

The museums and libraries in Ballangen, Kjøpsvik and Narvik invite you to a lecture tour with Arne Håkon Thomassen from the Sami Parliament!

Last week, Museum Nord‘s board and management were on a study trip in Ofoten. On Tuesday there was a trip to Kiruna with Steingrim Sneve as guide. The board got to experience a trip down to LKAB’s visitor mine in Kiruna, 540 meters below ground!

There was also a visit to Kiruna church with author Agge Theander who told about the relocation of the city. On the way back to Narvik, a stop was also made at the navvie cemetery at Hergot.

Thursday was spent talking to the Port of Narvik, Futurum, Visit Narvik and UiT, before the trip continued to Ballangen Museum. On Friday there was a meeting with Narvik municipality’s management. The topic was the science museum and plans for the development of the museum in the municipality.
