Lecture on the tugboat Styrbjørn

29 April 2024

On Thursday 25th of April, a historic lecture was held on the tugboat SS Styrbjørn in Narvik, and many came to the lecture in Sjømannskirka.

Ulf Ragnar Hanssen held a lecture about Styrbjørn’s fantastic history, and then there was a panel discussion with Elisabeth Bløtekjær Johanessen, Elf and Bjørnar Olsen. All of these are on the interrim board for the establishment of an association that will look after Styrbjørn.

The plan is to walk the boat from Oslo to Narvik during the summer. Today, the Norwegian Veteran Ship Club owns the boat.
