Filming for the anniversary video in Ofoten

This week, photographers Linn and Elias have been at all four museums in the Ofoten department together with staff from Ofoten to film for Museum Nord’s anniversary video. On the first day, the group visited Korsnes Museum and Kjøpsvik Museum in Tysfjord.

On the return from Kjøpsvik, there was a mandatory stop in Stefjorden to film and photograph the national mountain Stetind.

On day two, the group visited Ballangen Museum and Narvik Museum, and the tugboat Styrbjørn down in the harbor in Narvik.

As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, we are making an anniversary film that showcases our 21 museums and gives a glimpse into the region’s exciting and diverse history

Korsnes Museum

The venue at Korsnes is an old communication center located in an idyllic area.

Kjøpsvik Museum

The museum in Kjøpsvik cover mining and industrial history, cave finds, fish farming and household culture, war history and the school system.

Ballangen Museum

The rich geology- and mining history of the area, and the community that built it.

Narvik Museum

The spectacular Ofotbanen railway and iron ore trains, Narvik city’s development and industry in addition to travelling exhibits.
