LOFOTEN ART OPEN 2024 -

Lofoten Art Open happens this weeekend! Several artists in Lofoten open their studios and workshops to the public, and many art galleries and exhibition venues are open long hours and offer many fine art exhibitions and interesting programs.

You will find the various players at Reine and Nusfjord, on the road between Stamsund and Leknes, Kvalnes, Henningsvær, Kabelvåg and Svolvær. Follow the map! When: 7-8 September at 12-19.00.

Dive into the adventurous world of Espolin this weekend

Galleri Espolin shows three permanent exhibitions of art by Kaare Espolin Johnson (1907-1994) and a documentary film about the artist. In addition, we arrange a family workshop on Sunday. In our group exhibitions, the public can experience some of Kaare Espolin Johnson’s earliest drawings, his well-known lithographs such as “Cheating Fishermen”, “Fylgje” and “The Light Bridge” and fascinating works on paper in a mixed technique.

Also visit our latest exhibition of Kaare Espolin Johnson’s Fairy Tale Drawings, and discover his illustrations for books such as “Ringelihorn and Other Fairy Tales” and “Draugen: The Avenger from the Sea”.

Experience the artist himself telling about selected illustrations, and learn about how and why they were created. The film will be screened on Saturday and Sunday at 12:00, at 15:00 and at 17:00
