Super Saturday with the Vikings at Meieriet

16 September 2024

The Vikings visited Leknes for Super Saturday on 14.09.2024 to share exciting activities with the children. It was a great turnout with many eager participants of all ages. The Vikings brought a number of tasks from the longhouse for the children to test.

The activities were both fun and challenging, such as shield painting inspired by historical motifs, throwing a ball into a bucket, grinding barley groats into flour, holding a sword with a straight arm, lifting a heavy millstone, and not least being part of the shield wall and pushing the Vikings in and out.

In the end, the Vikings formed a shield wall that the children had to break through ? Something they managed by working together! A fantastic day ended with cheers from both young and old.

The result of all the shields the children painted is now hanging inside the dairy in Leknes.
