Clothes swap day at the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum

23 January 2025

Clothes swap day in the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum and bonfire fun with the Library

On Saturday 18 January, a clothes swap day was arranged for the first time at the old prayer house at Å, under the auspices of the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum. We were lucky to have Moskenes Public Library with us as well. The library marked “All of Norway bonfires” with bonfires, stories and book exhibitions. With activities both inside and outside, we had a nice joint event with many interested.

The prayer house was filled with clothes, shoes and other small treasures and there was a large turnout of visitors from all over West Lofoten. Coffee and cakes were also served inside the prayer house and you had the opportunity to warm food on the fire.

What do we mean by a change of clothes?

The goal of the event was to get out, meet each other, have a cup of coffee and do something good for our environment, and to change clothes you don’t use anymore and get new treasures in return. And maybe get some inspiration for repairing or redesigning new garments.

The day ended with many satisfied visitors who went home with new treasures, and some perhaps got more space in their wardrobe

Thank you so much for everyone who participated in the event!

If you wanted to, but couldn’t join this time, don’t be afraid! We are arranging a clothes swap day again during May. The date is coming soon!
