Cod and cultural heritage with Daniel Puig

14 March 2025

SKREI Research Center welcomed researcher Daniel Puig, postdoctoral fellow at the University of Bergen. Daniel researches the social limits of climate adaptation, with a special focus on climate change-driven loss of intangible cultural heritage and wanted a letter of recommendation from Museum Nord that his research is of relevance to us as well. In his upcoming research work, Daniel wants to develop knowledge and understanding of how intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is eroded by the effects of climate change, he uses the cod fishery in Lofoten and Vesterålen as a case study.

Stay tuned now! SKREI Research Center and Museum Nord, with Stockfish from Lofoten and LoVe development, are working on a UNESCO ICH application that is a separate delivery in the Horizon Europe project CONVIVIUM, so Puig’s focus, network and experience are important to us as well. Here, we mutually benefit from knowledge sharing between academia and Museum Nord.
