On Thursday we had a visit from Tone Elvebakk from Várdobáiki museum who talked about the work with, and about, the exhibition Govat ja muitalusat – Sámi eallin gaskal 1910-1925/ Photos and stories – Sami life 1910-1925.
In the exhibition, you get to know the Sami people in our region and the life they have lived. Tone is a good communicator and told many exciting and funny stories. Among other things, about the first moose that was shot in Ofoten, or was it a horse, and we are now all fans of ho Beret in Djupfjordbotn. Although all physical traces of hay are gone, there is a river called the Berret River to this day.
The engagement among the audience was high, and maybe we will end up with a Sami association in Bø and finally a Sami name for the municipality?
