A Super Saturday at Lofotr Viking Museum

25 March 2025

Saturday, 22 March, 2025 marked the first Super Saturday of the year at Lofotr Viking Museum and what a great start it was! Over 70 enthusiastic participants got to experience what we had prepared, and the atmosphere was lively from the start.

The children got to put on capes and Viking-inspired garments before they gathered for an exciting story about the creation of the world. They listened spellbound to the legend of the mythological kingdoms of Midgard, Utgard and Asgard a journey into Norse mythology that set the imagination in motion.

After the story, two exciting activities awaited. Aspiring warriors keen to test their battle skills could join our Viking warrior Jan at the Jotnenes Combat School. Creative souls got to explore the art of the gods together with Emilia and Therese, where they created beautiful patterns with stencils on cardboard ash leaves. These leaves will become part of a larger artwork next Super Saturday, they will adorn the large, magnificent world tree Yggdrasil in Meieriet library.

We look forward to another round of fun and magical moments on 26 April 2025!
