Where can you pick Easter eggs for free? The answer is the Andøy Museum in Andenes. Every year, an Easter egg hunt is arranged. The first hunt was made by the staff in 2020, and has been uninterrupted since then, regardless of the weather.
In the outdoor area between Andenes Lighthouse and Øvergårdbrygga, the Easter bunny lays thousands of eggs. The Easter hens take care of their own baskets where all children can pick up one egg from each hen every day. The hunt takes place over three days.

– We want the children to learn a new thing every time they visit the museum. Usually something that is related to the museum or the theme of the year. The most important thing is that they learn the historical names here in the center, and of course to get a good memory of the Andøy Museum,” says Jitse Buitink at the museum.
If the weather turns terrible, the hunt is held indoors.
