Lecture tour in Ofoten

The museums and libraries in Ballangen, Kjøpsvik and Narvik invite you to a lecture tour with Arne Håkon Thomassen from the Sami Parliament!

Before the weekend, SKREI Research Center received the Institute of Marine Research’s crew at the research vessel Johan Hjort, which has been on its annual Lofoten cruise to register spawning activity and observe the condition of the northeast Arctic cod stock.
Our frightened employee from Lofoten Film Collective was allowed to participate on the ship during last week’s South-West to North-West storm. Expedition leader Knut Korsbrekke took his team of researchers to SKREI where they were given a full tour of the Lofoten Museum, Galleri Espolin and the Lofoten Aquarium where we also ended with the status of SKREI and the feeding of seals and otters. The Institute of Marine Research has contributed a lot of knowledge to the exhibition work in SKREI and is a highly valued partner we want to continue to develop the relationship with as project partners, knowledge providers, and as a communicator of research.
