PhD candidate Elin Tinuviel Torbergsen presented during the Museum Educational Easter Seminar 2025 at the Natural History Museum in Oslo.
The Museum Pedagogical Easter Seminar is the annual meeting point for those who work with dissemination and exhibitions at museums. This year’s theme was participation. The seminar is often quite popular, so here it is important to be early to secure a place. And that was our PhD candidate Elin Tinuviel Torbergsen.

Elin gave the presentation AR technology as a bridge between the past and the present: Digital solutions to recreate context in archaeological museums:
In archaeological museums, objects are often removed from their original contexts, which weakens the understanding of their historical contexts. At the Lofotr Viking Museum at Borg in Lofoten, Augmented Reality (AR) is being explored as a solution for linking landscapes, fixed cultural monuments and objects together digitally. The AR app’s location-based technology brings the past to life and improves knowledge dissemination.
