In 2025, Lofotr Viking Museum celebrates its 30th anniversary. That’s why we’ve put together a cultural program with events spread throughout the year.

Another year has passed, and winter’s shifting face – with snow, rain, sleet, warmth, and cold – has finally let go. Now, we turn our eyes toward brighter days. As the weather grows warmer and the days grow longer, we prepare for new summer adventures. Sails are raised, holes are patched, boats are soaked and made seaworthy after their winter rest – and we are ready to set sail.
Our proud Viking ship, Vargfotr, is now moored in Borgepollen and already well underway with its first training sessions of the season. The skipper is aboard with the crew, and morale is high during practice. On Sunday, June 15th, 2025, we plan the ship’s first voyage with guests – weather permitting, of course!
We look forward to a summer filled with sunshine, sea spray, and strong sails. Vargfotr is launched – and summer has begun!
