SKREI Research Center
SKREI Research Center (SRC) is a three-year project to create an infrastructure that coordinates international, interdisciplinary research and knowledge about topics related to the Arctic cod.

10.-12. In June, SKREI Research Center by Jonas Walsøe went to Røst to participate in business meetings, program board participation in Lofoten The Green Islands and Destintation Lofoten, as well as a meeting with the Lofoten Council. On that occasion, we were able to anchor the SKREI project through the regions, as well as participate in important issues about the future of fisheries, tourism, municipalities and the local population.
SKREI is without a doubt an important and unifying project that many are looking forward to being completed in 2026. We have a great responsibility for the people along the coast that we represent through stories, exhibitions, programs and activities to promote our common heritage through fish, fisheries and coastal culture.
Beautiful Røst welcomed us well with glorious weather, stockfish on racks with company managers who showed us this year’s quality and good products, the new industrial facility of Glea Salmon that ticked like clockwork, and a unique experience with Tor Halvorsen, the multi-artist who has established T.H.E Creator at the far end of Lofoten.
