In connection with Lofotr’s 30th anniversary, the exhibition in the Visitor Centre has undergone a minor renovation and upgrade. In the first room, where visitors can learn more about the Viking Age and the chieftain’s seat at Borg through videos, there are now two new exhibition panels in place.
The exhibition team saw the need for an introductory text that presents the exhibition space in the Visitor Centre in a concise and informative way. The text is available in all six languages the museum offers: Norwegian, English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.
In the same room, new aluminum plates were also installed to explain the content of the videos, as well as new numbering of the sound files throughout the exhibition. The numbering is now clearer, with larger numbers and better colour contrast to increase readability.
New QR codes now adorn the largest room in the chieftain’s house – interpreted as the barn in the Viking Age – which today is an installation with an exhibition about Norse mythology.
