Maintenance on Rallarveien

15 September 2025

Last week, the newly outgoing department director in the Ofoten department, Jon Framnes, was at Rallarveien (The Navvy Road) to work on the maintenance and care of the cultural heritage. Jon still works 20% at Museum Nord.

The unique cultural monument that stretches from the Swedish border to Rombaksbotn is in good condition. Thanks to all those who travel there, Banenor and Rombaksbotn landowner and user association (RGB). In the fine autumn weather, they have cleared scrub and trees.

Benches have been set up under the Nordal Bridge so that people can take a detour down there to marvel at the engineering that was accomplished when the bridge was built. A bench has also been set up at the cable car in Fagerlia. Thank you for your efforts, and have a good trip to everyone.
