From Tuesday to Thursday last week, the collections team was in place for a registration session at Narvik Museum to work with the museum’s artefact collection. Together with both good colleagues from Lofoten, and good people from the Narvik Centre, the museum began to go through the artefact collection in the warehouse in the basement.

Dressed in personal protective equipment, the collection team worked diligently to review the artefact collection. Many items were taken out of the basement, repacked and new locations were registered in the Primus system. Part of the registration session has also been about pest problems in the object collection.

The artefact collection at Narvik Museum has a wide range of objects, including objects related to the Ofoten Railway, household utensils, tools and other utensils, and more personal objects such as clothes and shoes. See the nice children’s shoes in the pictures below!
