Lofoten – yes, Norway’s new attraction SKREI opens its doors to the public on June 30, 2026. The time leading up to this flies quickly as the new building The Otolith rises. In the meantime, Museum Nord is working on completing the new main exhibition, developing new experience products and preparing the museum facility to receive a large number of new guests. But what exactly will SKREI be?
Museum Nord has so far held several information meetings in the local community. SKREI has been presented at various conferences and meetings. Museum Nord also participates in various workshops with tour operators to talk about SKREI, and we have carried out several viewing trips over the past year, both inside and outside the building site. It is incredibly inspiring that we get such good feedback on SKREI, both the importance of the story we tell and that so many people show interest in visiting SKREI.
In order for SKREI to be a success, we are dependent on building on a close collaboration with the tourism industry in Lofoten. We do this best when we know each other well. Therefore, we now invite you to an information meeting specifically aimed at the tourism industry and adjacent industries, with an exclusive preview inside the new building The Otolith.
Meetup at the SKREI project offices, 2nd floor in the barracks rig at the construction site.
Parking in the shared parking lot at the Lofoten Museum.
14.00 Short presentation of SKREI – with information about the new main exhibition and plans for other public offerings. We serve coffee and a light snack. Distribution of safety equipment. Joint departure for a guided tour of The Otolith. The event ends at 15.30
