Last week, the collection team was at Øksnes Museum in Alsvåg.
Øksnes museum has a large storage with many artefacts. This time the textiles from the collection were handled. A lot had already been registered, which made the job easier. But the pictures had to be updated, and the textiles were currently being stored in unsuitable boxes. Thus, they were photographed, before they were repackaged in new storage boxes.

Jaroslav talks about how to take good pictures.
The exhibition room was well suited as a photo studio. There was no natural light, and plenty of room for several different stations. This was a good opportunity for several employees to familiarize themselves with object photography.

Cameras, lights and textiles are being prepared for photography.
The more illuminated shop was converted into a packing station.

The objects’ new locations are registered in Primus after they have been repacked in new boxes.
Many interesting and special garments and textiles appeared, including this fox pelt that garnered both shock and awe:

In addition, several people were needed when a postal flag was to be rolled up for storage:

These were some efficient and pleasant days where we packed around 25 boxes! Now the team has gone home, but the photography and repackaging will continue at the museum for a little while longer.
