This week, the popular radio program Abel’s Tower on NRK P2 came to Lofoten, more specifically the aquavit loft at Nyvågar Rorbuhotell, not far from SKREI. Our own “Codfather”, Jonas Walsøe in SRC was a panelist, and answered with professional weight to questions about the cod’s spawning migration and why exactly Lofoten and Vesterålen have such historical weight for the cod fishery.

There were many who had made the trip to Nyvågar this evening to see an exciting program that offered a wide field of knowledge. In addition to the cod, we were able to learn about why shampoo foams more in round 2, why peanut butter does not go rancid, why hydrogen is not used more as fuel, personalized cancer treatment and the ingenious work of the electric motor.

Radio host Torkild Jemterud with panelists Jonas Walsøe; from SKREI Research Center, Tove Julie Evjen; general manager “Innovacare” pharmacist with PhD in pharmaceutical technology and Svein Husjord; electric power engineer in Lofotkraft.
