Wednesday, 25th of March, is the big waffle day, and with us you can eat waffles at a museum! Several of the museums in Museum Nord make sure you don’t miss the celebration.
Did you know that Waffle Day has a historical origin that stretches far back in time? In Sweden, they celebrate “Vårfrudagen” (Annunciation Day) 25th of March, which in time became “Vaffeldagen” in the vernacular, it sounds very similar in Swedish and Norwegian!
Here’s an overview of where you can enjoy waffles with us on March 25th:

How about a waffle on board a real Hurtigruten ship?
In the museum café on MS Finnmarken, you can enjoy waffles surrounded by authentic style and with magnificent views. The dining is inspired by the time when the ship sailed, with a focus on good traditional food.
The café is open during the museum’s opening hours.

A waffle tastes extra good after a little movement.
If you take the trip up the 40-metre-high Andenes lighthouse, a well-deserved break follows in the café at the Andøy Museum. Here you can enjoy fresh waffles and something hot in your cup, perfect after a little outing!
Feel free to also stop by the museum shop!

There is a lot going on here both above and below water.
Twice during the day, you can see the feeding of seals and otters. We recommend adding a waffle break before, after – or both. The Lofoten Aquarium offers experiences for the whole family, and waffles, of course!

The Vikings didn’t have waffle irons, but we do!
In the museum café at Borg, waffles are served throughout the day. You don’t need an entrance ticket to visit the café or museum shop, so just stop by.
Plan your waffle day now, and visit one of our museums on March 25th.
We promise a good atmosphere, good experiences and good waffles.
