During the Easter holidays, Lofotr Viking Museum invited young and old to activity days in the chieftain’s house at Borg. Over the course of two days, visitors were able to participate in both craft activities and an exciting Easter mystery in sheltered Viking surroundings.
Friday’s activity day gathered many visitors for a day filled with creative joy and good experiences. In the feast hall flatbread was baked, here you could take part in the entire process from crushing nuts and mixing dough, to baking your own bread over the heat. The activity engaged both young and old, and provided a sensory experience of cooking.
One of the most popular activities of the day was to make your own spinning top in clay. Visitors shaped, adapted and put their personal stamp on the spinning tops before bringing them home. The activity provided room for creative expression, and it was clear that being able to take something home-made home was greatly appreciated.

Throughout the day, there was a good atmosphere in the chieftain’s house, where visitors gathered around the activities. While the wind blew outside, the warmth of the fire and the activities created a natural gathering point inside. Many stayed for a long time, and both visitors and locals took part in the experiences.
On Saturday, the little ones were invited to solve an Easter mystery. Through a wandering theater where the children had to solve tasks and unravel a mysterious mystery. With hints of both a golden apple and hidden treasures, the participants got to use both imagination and curiosity to get closer to the solution.

The Wandering Theatre created a different framework for dissemination, where the audience themselves became part of the story. The format opens up for further development of interactive experiences at the museum. While also providing new opportunities to engage children through play and storytelling.
During the two days, around 70 visitors stopped by to participate in the event.
We thank everyone who made the trip to Borg during the Easter holidays. And hope to see both new and familiar faces at future events!
