On Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 May, employees from the Ofoten department and the Vesterålen department were in place at Korsnes Museum for a lunch-to-lunch program where they were to work on refreshing.
Korsnes Museum is located in Hamarøy municipality, in an idyllic area at the mouth of the fantastic Tysfjord. It is also very close to the ferry landing at Bognes.

The visit to Korsnes Museum was part of the refresher program, which brings together employees across the departments of Museum Nord for joint efforts in the run-up to the summer season. The goal is to help each other facilitate an even better visitor experience.
This is the first time the refresher program has been carried out, and initially it was a small group that participated. Gro Rundfloen and Thea Moe Bjøranger from the Vesterålen department got to experience the facility and the surroundings at Korsnes Museum for the first time with a kind of outside view.

The work session took place over two days: the first with a focus on getting to know the place, brushing the floor in the barn where last year’s autumn leaves have found their way in, as well as weeding and raking in the garden at Bårstua where the summer café is run every year. Day two was spent brainstorming and planning for the way forward for both exhibition renewal and adaptation for a better visitor experience at the museum. Among other things, the working group provided input for a guide booklet that will be ready for the start of this year’s season.

The summer season at Korsnes Museum kicks off with a Bryggefest (pier party) on the museum pier on June 26, followed by the museum’s first weekend of summer opening!
