Skrei Research Center at professional day at Kvitnes farm

On 28 and 29 April, Kvitnes Gård and the business network LoVe Food gathered actors from the entire food value chain for two days of professional replenishment, networking and food experiences in unique surroundings. The event “Mat & Prat” brought together producers, chefs, waiters and operators from the region for inspiring conversations about food, quality and the future opportunities for the North Norwegian food industry.

The hosts at Kvitnes Gård created a framework that gave the participants both dining experiences and proximity to the ingredients. Many highlighted the importance of meeting physically in a busy everyday life, and how such arenas contribute to strengthening the community in the North Norwegian food industry.

? It is inspiring to gather people who are passionate about food, quality and local resources. When producers, chefs and the hospitality industry meet around the same table, new ideas and collaborations arise, say the organizers of LoVe Food.

The event clearly showed the need for meeting places where the entire value chain can gather for professional development and networking. At the same time, the gathering emphasized the strong role local ingredients and food culture play in identity, value creation and experiences in the region.
