SKREI in the media

09 June 2026

There is good attention to SKREI, both locally, regionally and internationally.

The local newspapers write frequently about the progress in SKREI. Examples of cases that have been covered are about the relocation of the fantastic artwork Trollfjordslaget, that SKREI creates new jobs, that the Manor House has undergone renovation and appears in new glory – and even many more cases. SKREI, by our own “codfather”, has also been featured in the NRK program Abel’s Tower.

Presentations, famtrips, B2Bmeetings – and more

We have introduced SKREI (and our other museums) to many tour operators through B2B meetings (business to business) and through viewing trips for both the press, media and professional communities.

In addition, we have spoken warmly about SKREI on many occasions, e.g. at NHO reiseliv region Nord-Norway’s annual meeting.

SKREI also carries out work that in itself attracts great and important attention, e.g. the submission of an international nomination proposal for stockfish traditions ? UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.

SKREI is also starting to appear in international and national media. Read about how “Lofoten is telling a deeper story”, how “the story of Norway’s most important fish is highlighted”, how “SKREI will tell about life on Lofoten’s islands” and not least Visit Norway’s one of several great articles about the cod, the Lofoten fishery and SKREI. This one is also worth clicking on, about top news in Norway in 2026 (pssst, SKREI is on the list). During the autumn, SKREI will also be shown on Italian TV, and when the animated film ViQueen hits cinemas in Christmas 2026, the skrei will also have its place there. We believe that this will benefit SKREI.

SKREI is in the media like never before. We hope it will both make you want to visit but also be interesting to follow the project from different angles: buildings, museum subjects, experiences and more. It is fun to see that the work to create awareness of SKREI is yielding results.
