The museums and libraries in Ballangen, Kjøpsvik and Narvik invite you to a lecture tour with Arne Håkon Thomassen from the Sami Parliament!
21 June 2026

As part of the CONVIVIUM meeting in Lofoten, we invite participants to join a hands-on workshop where we test the “Family Food Heritage app.”
Family Food Heritage is a digital platform where people can store, organize and share their family’s food history ? recipes, memories, stories, photographs, family traditions and other material related to food, place and knowledge that is passed down between generations. The app has no commercial purpose. It is being developed as part of the CONVIVIUM project to support residents, families and communities in preserving and perpetuating food-related cultural heritage.
This workshop will be especially valuable with the participation of people in Lofoten. Their experiences and perspectives will help us understand how the app can be useful in Norwegian family and local communities. Their contributions can also form the basis for a future translation and adaptation of the platform into Norwegian, so that it can be used by families and communities across the country who want to document and share their food heritage.
During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to explore the app, create or test records of their family’s food heritage, share their impressions and make suggestions for improvements. The feedback will help the CONVIVIUM team further develop the platform so that it can further support families, communities and citizens in their efforts to preserve and pass on food-related cultural heritage.
