Dagny and Isalill Kolpus become Viking heroes in ViQueens

This week, Lofotr was the gathering point when the cast of the upcoming animated film ViQueens visited Borg for the film’s press release.

Museum Nord is incredibly proud to be an official partner for Harald Zwart’s magnificent animated film, ViQueens. Today we are very happy to share that a new teasertrailer has finally been released!
In this new trailer, we get an insight into the English-language version of the film. Here, the audience can hear voices from the star-studded cast consisting of, among others, Rita Ora, Ella Purnell and Alan Carr. Finally, the project comes to life on screen.

A Viking adventure from Lofotr to China
ViQueens takes us on a terrific and heartwarming journey. The film follows the two brave Viking girls Ingrid and Hedvig. They embark on an adventure from their home, Lofotr, and travel all the way to China to help a stowaway find his way home. The story combines suspense, humor and courage, conveyed in a way that gives a completely new impression of the Vikings and the Viking Age.
Local history as inspiration
Museum Nord has played an active role in the development of the film. With the goal of making our history alive and relevant, the project is a fantastic example of just that.
Lofotr Viking Museum has been the direct inspiration for Ingrid and Hedvig’s home. And our skilled professionals have contributed with knowledge about the Viking Age to make the universe authentic. In addition, both the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum and the new SKREI have served as important sources of inspiration and contributors. Museum Nord has provided professional input throughout the project, so that the local history is safeguarded in a respectful and correct manner.
It has been a pleasure to work with Harald Zwart and his team to bring our local cultural heritage to a global audience. We can’t wait for the film to arrive in its entirety on December 26th, and hope the trailer arouses curiosity!
