Liv Helene Willumsen and Gøril Karlsen have been on a lecture tour in Vesterålen
29 June 2026

In the penultimate week of June, 36 partners from Spain, Portugal, Poland, France and the Netherlands have been in Lofoten for a consortium meeting in the Horizon Europe project CONVIVIUM. SKREI Research Center in team with skilled employees in Museum Nord welcomed the partners with a tight program that involved seeing Lofoten from the sea in stormy weather, sustainable tourism and food production, a visit to stockfish producer Nic. Haug, foraging on the shore with Odd Arne Sandberg, Lofotr Viking Museum, SKREI and the use of the community centers “Gammelfengslet” in Kabelvåg and the Music House in Svolvær.

The partners gained a thorough understanding of what is food culture in our region, how have we lived with the cycles of nature, and held a conference on food heritage and preparedness on the last day of the meeting.
We would like to thank everyone who has delivered top quality throughout the week, Thon Hotel, Bua Kabelvåg, Musikkhuset Svolvær, Museum Nord, XXLofoten, Nyvågar Rorbuhotell, Odd Arne Sandberg, Nic.Haug As, Tide Buss, LoVe utvikling!
