Throughout the year there are a lot of different things going on around our museums. Below you can take a closer look at what we currently have on the block for 2022. Individual events with more details will be posted under Events. Subject to changes to the program.

Book launch “Sami past in Lofoten”:

  • February 4 at 4:00: Reine, organized by the Norwegian Fishermen’s Museum
  • February 5 at 4 pm: Lofotr Viking Museum
  • February 6 at 12 and 1330: Gallery Espolin. In addition, celebration of the Sami national day
  • February 10 at 7:00 PM Sortland Museum

21 February at 19: Lecture with Knut Werner Hagen “General Fleischer and the battles for Narvik in 1940” at Sortland Museum.

February 23-27 The Northern Lights Festival – Winter party in Andøy at Andøymuseet.

March 30 Lecture with Ole Martin Rønning “First in the North – The Labor Movement in North Norway” at Sortland Museum.

1-3 April Course with Tone Elvebakk in weaving Sami coma bands from Nordre Nordland and Sør-Troms. Melbo Manor in cooperation with NAKV.

April 7 Lecture with Åsa Elstad “Hurtigruta under the war” at Sortland Museum.

May 14 Gerhard Schøning 300 years anniversary at Lofotr Viking Museum

May 18 at 10-18 World Museum Day at Narvik Museum

May 21 at 17-18 30th anniversery Lofotr Viking ship at Lofotr Viking Museum

May 24 and 31 at 12 Ponder day at Andøy Museum

  • The Andøy Museum invites anyone who wants to come by and drink coffee and eat waffles, while at the same time pondering various objects we have and telling them what they know or think about them.

May 26-28 at 10-18 Andøy Museum celebrate spring with mini farm and other outdoor activities.

May 29 Coast Day at Lofoten Aquarium, Espolin Gallery and Lofoten Museum

JUNE

Summer opening of museums: Skaftnes farm, Bø Museum, Kjøpsvik Museum, Korsnes Museum, Norwegian Fishing Village Museum, Øksnes Museum.

June 1 starts city biking in Narvik and the bakery at Å opens

June 4 The Arctic Triple starts from the Lofotr Viking Museum

June 4-11 Pop-up art exhibition at Narvik Museum by Sammuel Ambroise

June 11 16-20 Board games evening at Andøy Museum

June 15 Childrens routen opens at Norwegian Fishing Village Museum

June 28 Our Struggle opens at Øksnes Museum

  • The Chieftain’s house: guiding, craftsmen and food
  • At the Viking ship harbour: Ax throw, bow and arrow, horseshoe throw, smithy, Viking ship, café
  • Activity route from the chieftain’s house to the Viking ship harbour

JULY

Summer opening of museums: Ballangen Museum

July 7 Garden walk and demonstration of old crafts at Melbo Manor.

July 13-14 at 12-14 Arctic kids mining camp at Ballangen Museum

July 24-31 Reginedagan at Bø Museum

  • Sunday July 24 market day at the museum from 11-17
  • On Monday July 25 the artists from AiR Vesterålen have a workshop at the museum and present their work on 30 July.
  • Wednesday July 27 at 17 Adventures for Adults by Liv Helene Willumsen and Gøril Karlsen
  • On Friday July 29, the museum will take part in the Coastal Team’s family day at Lake Steinesjøen
  • On Saturday July 30, the museum tells about the last part of Anton Ellingsen’s diary from Gaukværøya
  • Sunday July 31 Adventure Trail at Bøhallen
