Archaeologist on Dialogue Tour: Sámi Cultural Heritage in Vesterålen

On Friday 26.9 at 18:00, archaeologist at the Sami Parliament, Arne Håkon Thomassen visits Øksnes museum to give a lecture on archaeological finds and Sami cultural heritage in Vesterålen.

Thomassen works with Sami archaeological finds and Sami cultural heritage, and will talk about finds in the 132 kV line routes, meetings with local people who tell about their own finds, and wonders about places where they themselves reside and travel. He also addresses myths and scaremongering about “finding something”, such as that there will be a halt in developments and projects.

Admission is free! There will be coffee and something to eat.

The lecture is a collaboration between Vesterålen Sámi Association, the Sámi Parliament and Museum Nord.
