Lino print (lino cut)

Lino printing is a graphic technique where you cut a motif into a linoleum plate.

The finished plate can be printed several times, and you get to make 2-3 prints that you can take home!

The process

Everything that is supposed to be white is cut away. The motif itself remains as an elevated relief on the plate.

The area that remains is applied color and then the plate is pressed against a piece of paper.

We print with a press or by hand to transfer the image to the paper.

The finished print will be a mirrored imprint of the motif that has been cut out in the plate.

Play of colours

We mainly make single-coloured prints, but you can also print in several colours.

Either by using one plate for each color or using the puzzle method! With the puzzle method, you divide the plate according to different elements in the motif. The parts are rolled in with different colors, and then put back together and printed.
