BOOK LAUNCH: Richard With – The Father of the Coastal Express

Welcome to the book launch at the Hurtigruten Museum! Gjermund Andreassen has done a deep dive into the life of the man who is often called “the father of the Coastal Express”, and the result is now being published at Orkana Publishing House.

The event is held on the flag deck aboard our very own MS Finnmarken.

During the event, there will be music, pictures and storytelling. Richard With has, as many here in the north knows, almost gained a mythical status. Gjermund will tell a little about the project and share exciting samples from the book.

Afterwards, there will of course be opportunities to buy the book, and maybe get a signature?

The museum café will be open both before, during and after the event.

About the Author:

Gjermund Andreassen (1954) was born and raised at Toftenes in Øksnes, Vesterålen. He graduated from the teacher training college at Nesna (1977), has a cand.philol. in music (NTNU 1983) and has a master’s degree in Spanish language and culture (UiT 2014). In the rest of his academic circle, he has history (NTNU 1979), oral storytelling (Oslo Met 2003) and Italian (UiB 2007). He has taught in primary and secondary school and in music school, in high school and at university level, and was for a number of years principal of the music school. He has behind him a broad production as a composer and arranger.
