Draw fairy tales at Bø Museum

Come and draw fairytale pictures on tuesday July 21st at Bø Museum. The children get to make their own fairytale pictures in black and white in this creative workshop!
We have been inspired by Regine Normann’s fairy tales and Kaare Espolin Johnson’s drawings to the collection Ringelihorn (1967). Espolin’s book illustrations in Regine Normann’s Ringelihorn was made in his special scratching technique, where the artist scraped out light line drawings from a black surface.
Malin Overholth from the Espolin Gallery in Lofoten introduces the children to Espolin and the technique.
The activity is suitable for children from 7 years and up – parents are welcome to join them as well. The drawing workshop takes place from 12:00 to 14:00.
Celebrating 100 years of Northern Norwegian adventures!
This year marks 100 years since the author Regine Normann (1867-1939) published the book Eventyr (1925), and Nye Eventyr the following year. Regine was then a well-established author in the capital and had published books in many genres where fairy tales had also been accommodated.
The Espolin Gallery joins the celebration of the 100th anniversary together with Bø Museum and the Regine Normann Foundation, which this summer organizes the annual festival Reginedagan. We will be in Bø to tell about Kaare Espolin Johnsons illustrations on monday and to hold the drawing workshop on tuesday.
