Exhibition opening: Govat ja muitalusat – Sámi eallin gaskal 1910-1925, Photos and stories – Sámi life 1910-1925

Ballangen Museum and Ballangen library welcomes you to an exhibition opening at Ballangen library tuesday 4th of februar, at 4-6 PM! 

The opening is marked with a lecture by Tone Elvebakk from Várdobáiki Sami Center, and coffee and something to eat, and Áhkánjárgga Sámesearvi / Narvik Sami Association provides activities for children!

The exhibition Govat ja muitalusat – Sámi eallin gaskal 1910-1925, Photos and stories – Sami Life 1910-1925 tells through photographs and stories about what life was like in the markasámi villages in South Troms and Northern Nordland 100 years ago. The exhibition was produced by Várdobáiki Sami Centre in collaboration with Sortland Museum and Narvik Museum in 2017, as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first Sami national meeting in Trondheim in 1917. The exhibition Govat ja muitalusat – Sámi eallin gaskal 1910-1925, Photos and stories – Sami Life 1910-1925 is available from Monday 3rd of February, but officially opens on Tuesday 4th of February.

The exhibition opening is free of charge.

The exhibition is completely free to visit, just like the library.
