Take part in amazing e-bike tours in Ballangen’s diverse history of nature and endowment. From the bike seat you get close to nature, wildlife and the stories. We play with bikes, master the surroundings and have fun with friends and family.With an e-bike, even uphill slopes make it fun to ride. On the forest road and threaded paths you get to experience the history in layers with our guide. There are plenty of challenges, and the trip goes by the adits and shafts that was run over a hundred years ago.
The copper mines in Melkedalen (Mon, Wed and Fridays)
Attendance at Ballangen museum. Here you will be awarded e-bikes and a brief introduction about the bikes and the current stage. The first few kilometres run along paved roads. At Sjurvannet we take the old construction road up to the adits and shafts that was blased into the mountains. The copper mines were rich, but there was a short prospect period before operations were discontinued.
On our way beck we follow the old roads that were used for the transport of ore. We cycle past the Groundwater Nature Reserve where we can see rare bird species and plant life. Feel free to bring binoculars. The trip gives you many great experiences, great mining stories, and challenges enough. It is an advantage to have cycling experience from before. The museum always adheres to current infection control rules. E-cycling in small groups, in free nature with family and friends is an excellent activity this summer.

Kjeldebotn (Tue and Thursdays)
Attendance at Ballangen museum. Here you will be awarded e-bikes and a brief introduction about the bikes and the current stage. The first kilometres run along a forest road up to Bøvannet. The road goes over to the path and we cycle in hilly and demanding terrain. In Skårnesdalen lies an old scarf. The sharpeners had faith in good instances of their, but the great wealth was missed. We stop by this sharpened on the trip down to the idyllic farming village of Kjeldebotn. The trip back goes along paved road, and we stop at the dolomite quarry at Hekkelstrand. The trip gives you many great experiences, great mining stories, and challenges enough. It is an advantage to have cycling experience from before.
