Ravel 150 years

Welcome to an atmospheric lunchtime concert with music by Maurice Ravel, who this year would have turned 150 years old. Pianist Srdjana Jovanovic Gouka plays the whole of Miroirs ? a piano work full of colours, details and expressions.
Ravel (1875-1937) was a French composer who placed great emphasis on both precision and emotion. He himself said: “Music, I feel, must be emotional first and intellectual second.”
Miroirs was written in 1904?05 and consists of five movements, each dedicated to a friend in Ravel’s artistic circle, ? Les Apaches?. The music moves from the delicate and dreamy to the rhythmic and lively, and gives a good picture of Ravel’s musical world.
The concert has free admission.
Ravel 150 years is a concert series by Musikk i Nordland.
