Saturday café and lecture: “Trouser-Beret” by Hilde Hansen

Four Saturdays in June and July, join us as the café in Alsvåggården serves coffee, cakes, and waffles, and the museum hosts storytelling and lectures in the museum building.
On Saturday 5.7, Hilde J. Hansen joins us to talk about Beret Johanna Paulsdatter Dypvand, also called Buks-Beret or Trouser-Beret, a very special woman of Sami origin, who among other things had her own boat and fished in Lofoten from the 1820s to the 1860s. Because of her work, she wore trousers, and thus became known as Trouser-Beret. Read more about her here: Trouser-beret – Museum Nord
The summer exhibition “My ship is loaded with…” is open, and the café has a slightly larger selection for the occassion.
