Theatre performance: Lykken e vårres

Thursday 18 December 2025 17:30 - 18:00
Lykken e vårres, with a picture of the boat lykken

What is it that makes someone, at the risk of their own life, choose to secretly transport refugees? Who were refugees in Norway 80 years ago? What is a Nygaardsvold boat? And what is “Lykken”?

The boat “Lykken” is protected by the Directorate for Cultural Heritage and is now in a restoration process. The story of the boat is exciting. It participated in refugee transport during World War 2, and was attempted to be sunk in a cover operation, and then floated ashore in Troms. “Lykken” didn’t want to go down!

In 2025, it will be 80 years since the war ended and Lykken returned to Øksnes. Both peace and the boat returned – and all the people who had fled.

Welcome to a celebration you have not experienced before at Samhold Slip, where Lykken is now standing on land for restoration. The actors are children, adolescents and adults. The script and music are written by Marianne Meløy and Ragnhild Risnes. Directed by Susanne Pettersen from the cultural school in Øksnes.

NOTE! There will be limited space at the performances! Tickets can be bought here: https://tikkio.com/events/60263
