Do you want to contribute as a volunteer?

The Lofoten Aquarium consists of living exhibitions, which means that we are constantly on the lookout for new specimens for the aquariums. In addition to fish, we are also on the lookout for other animals such as sea urchins, starfish, crabs, crayfish, snails, bivalvia, sponges and whatever you can find of living creatures in the ocean.

If you as a fisherman come across a specimen of a fish that you think can look good in one of our aquariums, you can handle it carefully and hand it over to us here at the aquarium.

If you like diving, you can help find animals that are difficult to catch with fishing gear, such as anemones, sponges, bivalvia, sea cucumbers, etc.

If you like to explore the shoreline, there is a lot of life to be found there too. Maybe you’ll find loose rocks with barnacles or shells on them, or butterfish under a rock.

We are interested in most things that live in the ocean, so please contact us if you would like more information or have a contribution.
