Highligths of the museum

Transport, coastal culture, history, technology – the Hurtigruten Museum offers a lot for many. If you step on board, we think this can be particularly exciting to see:

Richard With himself tells the story of his maiden voyage in 1893 at the theme station “In the beginning”.

Dining in the café and first place dining room in MS Finnmarken, which has been restored and restored to 1956. The food offer has been developed on the menus on the Hurtigruten from the 50s/60s and music from the same era is played.

The lounges from the steamship Finmarken from 1912 and get a sense of the atmosphere when King Haakon, Richard With and several prominent guests sat in the lounges during the opening of the Risøyrenna in Vesterålen. Wallpaper, furniture, mirrors, carvings and sconces take your breath away.

The lighthouse lens from Litløy lighthouse that is 2.5 m in diameter and stands over five meters up in space. It moves 90 degrees and gives small flashes over the exhibition throughout the day.

The film “A Precious Cargo” about the time the entire coast came together to save a baby. A film directed and produced by norwegian film maker Maria Fuglevaag Warsinska-Varsi. You can find it in the ladies lounge onboard the MS Finnmarken

The cargo holds via the ship’s side of the boat, about cargo and freight, and how Coastal Norway has always been about the sea, the people and the boats.
