Meet our otters

Our two otters live together just outside the main building at the Lofoten Aquarium. They have plenty of space to do everything they like, such as climbing the big rocks and rock walls, swimming and diving in the pond and they can also find a hiding place in the stone scree to take a nap.

Eddie moved into the Lofoten Aquarium in January 2023. She was born somewhere in Sotra outside Bergen, most likely in the late summer of 2022.

Målfrid arrived at the Lofoten Aquarium in July 2023. She was born near Henningsvær in Lofoten, sometime in the spring of 2023.

Otter feeding is on the program twice a day, and is worth to see during your visit.

Eddie – THE otter

Eddie was born somewhere on Sotra outside Bergen, most likely in late summer 2022.

She was found after her mother was hit and taken home to a family in Sotra. She stayed there for several months before taking the long flight up to us at the Lofoten Aquarium at the end of January 2023.

Målfrid the otter

An otter cub was found abandoned in Henningvær one day in July 2023. It was transported to the Lofoten Aquarium where it now lives life in luxury.
