Are there any future archaeologist out there? Join the excavators, a fun and educational archaeological activity at Øksnes Museum!
We carry out the popular activity “The Excavators”! Kids get to play archaeologists and dig up real animal bones. Some are tiny, others are huge! What animals do they belong to?
In “The Excavators”, children get to explore and learn about animals, nature and archaeology in a down-to-earth and fun way. We at the museum are on hand to help and share our knowledge throughout the activity.
The program was developed by an archaeologist at Sortland Museum and has previously been arranged for children in Sortland and Øksnes. The recommended age is 5-12 years, duration approx. 30-45 min.
“The Excavators” is currently not actively hosted at the museum, but arrangements can be made for larger groups or kindergartens/school classes. Contact us to arrange a visit.
Please note that due to space, we can only arrange the activity outdoors.
